St. Andrews-Covenant Presybterian Church Memorial Garden

Our church’s Memorial Garden is located on the east side of Gallery Hall. It is enclosed by a brick and black metal fence. The Memorial Garden offers the choice for ashes to be inurned (placed in granite niche) or scattered. Thirty-two granite niches have been installed in the Memorial Garden. When ashes are inurned, the niche in question will be engraved, listing the name, date of birth and date of death of the deceased. A large bronze plaque has been installed on the south wall of the Memorial Garden for the listing of the names and appropriate dates of persons whose ashes are scattered in the Memorial Garden. The Garden has a sprinkler system and has been landscaped. Of course, landscaping will be a continuing activity. All of the plants that bloom are white (dogwood, azaleas, Easter lilies, daffodils, snowdrops and Confederate Jasmine). The other plants in the Garden include a coral bark maple tree, tea olives, and tassel ferns. Please take the opportunity to visit the Memorial Garden if you have not already done so. As we look to the future, a granite bench is planned for the Garden, and a sculpture by Karen Paden Crouch will be placed in the Garden in 2012. If you have any questions regarding the Memorial Garden, or you would like to make arrangements for purchasing a niche or for scattering rights, please call Jerry Worley, Church Business Administrator at 762-9693×204.
