VALUES AND VISION

VALUES AND VISION

Do you know what they are at SACPC?  Without looking at our newsletter or our website could you name them?  Here is a way to help us all remember what we value and what our vision is at our church.

Think of a person who never comes to church, who is not sure whether they even believe in God.  Think of the process of becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and what that means to us today.

Our task is to help people know, love, and worship God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Then we want to encourage them to follow Jesus Christ.  We want them to become part of the family here at SACPC to share both cares and joys.  They all have gifts, like we do, and discovering their passion and gifts is vital to them and to the church.  Finally, we want to give to them opportunities to use those gifts in our church, community, and across the world.

That is it; that is what we value.  To help a person know God, follow Jesus, join a family, discover their gifts, and then use them in God’s Kingdom.

What is our vision?  That all of us who belong to this church will live out those values.  Every one of us.  Not just the Pastors, or the staff, or the Elders and Deacons, but every one of the members of SACPC!!!  When we live out those values, we will have a significant impact upon the community and world in which we live.  Others will want to come to this church because the reality of God will be so evident in our lives.

Can you imagine that day?  A day when how we live will cause others to come and see what is happening at this church.  What a day that will be.  Will this happen overnight?  No, it won’t; but it is the preferred future for which we have been called.  It is the future that our Session sees.  It is an incredible future.  Now, it will take more than a commitment from the Staff and from the lay leadership for our preferred future to begin to occur.  It will take your commitment.  Your desire to know God, follow Jesus, be part of this family, discover your gifts, and then use them in God’s world.

Come join the adventure.

Yours in Christ,

Steve Hein
