6:30pm ~ Hebrews: Rewriting Christology for God’s Chosen People Led by Bob Bankhead The author of Hebrews is the third great theologian of the New Testament. Paul, with the doctrine of the Theology of the Cross, established the fundamental Christology of God’s plan of salvation in the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus. John, the gospel writer, with the doctrine of the Incarnate Word of God, then added Incarnation as a fundamental tenet of belief in Jesus. Next, the author of Hebrews rewrote Christology acknowledging Jesus as the Great High Priest, addressed to the early Jewish Christians converted from Judaism. Rm. #224
