A Congolese refugee family that our church is helping to resettle through Interfaith Refugee Ministry (IRM) has recently started to attend SACPC. First to arrive was Elvis and Serugo. Then Serugo’s three cousins, followed by his parents and his 6 siblings. Elvis was joined by his sister and her two daughters. They have spent the last 15 years living in a refugee camp in Rwanda. For some family members that means their entire life. They arrived with just a small carry on bag, so you can imagine their needs are great. We are now using SignUpGenius to communicate and track donations. You can help by sending your email address to email@example.com and you will begin receiving SignUpGenius messages specifying the needed items. IRM is responsible for finding them employment, but if you know of opportunities don’t hesitate to let anyone on welcome team know (Jane Smith, Amy Stuart, Miranda Dungan, Lil Conley, Jane Raney, Joy Guenther, Ann Danchak, Brenda Pollard, Dawn Mann, Kathy Denlinger, David and Gloria Vreeland). The goal is to get them self-sufficient within 6 months. Questions? Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
