The Woodlot Project provides wood to needy individuals in the community who rely on wood for heating and cooking. Volunteers cut wood with mechanical splitters, axes and chainsaws; stack the wood; load the wood in trucks; deliver the wood to homes; and unload the wood at the recipients’ homes. All ages and skill levels are needed; as well as cutting equipment and drivers with pick-up trucks. The woodlot is open every Saturday, 8am to 11am, from December 3rd through March 4th (except 12/24) and is located off 23rd Street beside ILM Airport, at 1815 Gardner Drive. For more information, contact project coordinator, Sam Daniluk (799-2935).
