We are blessed to be developing a partnership with Good Shepherd where we can make a lasting, meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families being supported here in Wilmington.
On Sunday, March 26th, we have the unique opportunity to hear how we can participate. Katrina Knight, Executive Director of the Good Shepherd Center, will be joining David Augustus in a joint sermon to open our hearts and minds to delivering on what we collectively said over the past year is important to us – serving our community.
The partnership will include a broad range of volunteer activities. Individuals with limited time can help prepare and serve a meal. Groups can organize projects such as gardening and clean-up. You can also be trained to serve as a ‘helpful neighbor’, providing encouragement to someone as they are rehoused down the street at Lakeside Reserve. It’s also important we become educated and local advocates for affordable housing.
A simple lunch in the Dining Room with David and Katrina will follow the 11:00 a.m. services for those interested in learning more about how to get involved. In the meantime, please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like added to our distribution for communication and volunteer opportunities.
