- Head of Staff
Steve graduated from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (PCUSA) with a M. Div. in 1975. Before arriving at SACPC in June of 1998, Steve served churches in Sharon, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Waterloo, IA. He and his wife Katherine (Kay) have been married for 37years and they have 3 children: Jennifer & her husband Chris live in Chicago, Will and his wife Alethea live in Pittsburgh where Will works for Met Life and Thea is in her second year of residency at the UPMC. Their youngest son Christopher was just recently married Olivia McCain. They live in Chicago. Chris works for the National Scouting Association and Olivia works for Holly Hunt. Steve enjoys golf, bridge, and the “Steelers”. Kay teaches 5th grade at Cape Fear Academy and they both love it when their three adorable grandchildren come to visit them from Chicago.     Â

The Reverend Doctor. Edward G. Connette

- Pastor Emeritus
After graduating from The University of Tennessee, Ed spent 2 years in the Air Force. Following his military service, he, his wife Liza, and son moved to Richmond where he graduated from Union Theological Seminary. In June of 1956, Ed, Liza and their children Woody, Sarah and Betty moved to Wilmington where he served as Assistant Minister at SACPC, and in 1958 became Pastor. With two more children, Albert and Andy he moved back to Richmond, Virginia in 1974. Ed then retired from The Westminster Church in 1990 and moved back to Wilmington. He served SACPC as Parish Associate for 6 years, then another year as interim Associate Minister. His wife Liza likes to say, Ed has flunked retirement five times. In between retirements, Ed fishes, reads, travels, works in their yard, and enjoys his grandchildren.     Â

The Reverend Robert H. LappÂ
 Robb joined the SA-CPC staff as an associate pastor in 2000. He grew up in south Florida, and is a graduate of Lenoir- Rhyne College and Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. He has served churches in Missouri and Kansas before returning to the southeast. In the spring of 2008 he had the opportunity to take a 2 week pilgrimage to Israel. His wife, Vickie, teaches 2nd grade at Ogden Elementary, and they have two children: Kate (18) and Stephen (14). In their spare time you can find them at the gym watching Kate play basketball or at the soccer field watching Stephen.    Â
