Weddings
WEDDING POLICY
Weddings at St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church are a Service of Worship and include most of the elements found in any worship service in this church. Wedding policies shall, therefore, follow the criteria established by the Book of Order.
Who may marry here:
· Members of Saint Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian
- · Children or grandchildren of members of St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church
- · We do not host non-member weddings.
All couples who marry here must adhere to the following policies:
1. Responsibility – Couples being married in this church are held responsible for the actions of their wedding party.
2. Officiating – The wedding must be conducted by a minister of this church. Other ministers may assist only by invitation of the Session.
3. Premarital Pastoral Care – Couples must initiate an appointment for premarital pastoral care with one of the ministers within thirty (30) days following approval.
4. Music – The church organist shall provide music at all weddings. The services of other organists may be used only with his permission. In such cases that person shall receive their normal fee. In the event the church organist is not available, he/she will assist in securing an organist.
a. The selection of music, sung or played, shall be appropriate to the sacred nature of the wedding service of worship. Final approval of all music shall be made by the organist of St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church.
b. It shall be the bride’s responsibility to provide soloists’ sheet music no later than one (l) month prior to the wedding.
c. Soloists must arrange for rehearsal time with the organist.
