SACPC’S First Youth Choir Music and Mission Tour
I ts hard to imagine how one short week can make such a difference in the lives of our youth and the lives of those to whom we ministered. Its also hard to imagine how much can be accomplished in one week. That one week, August 1 – August 8, made a lasting impact of those giving and those receiving.
WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?
We’re talking about Youth Choir Tour 2009 where 22 youth and leaders traveled to New York City and the South Bronx to sing and serve. Our work defined what music and mission is all about. The choir, prepared with memorized music, all in harmony, shared their message of hope and inspiration by leading hour long worship services in rescue missions, homeless centers and start-up churches in impoverished areas. They sang, read scriptures, delivered messages of hope and inspiration and led groups in prayer. And they did it well. Always, those who attended these services were touched by our youth and reached out to our young people in countless ways. While we were there to “give,” we certainly “received.”
