Sonshine Choir: Our Sonshine Choir is offered for children ages 4 (pre-kindergarten) through Kindergarten. Weekly rehearsals focus on the identification and development of your child’s singing voice. Children are taught by rote (modeling) and through age-appropriate musical games. Various rhythm instruments are used during rehearsals. The basics of ensemble singing and playing are also introduced and developed in this choir. Additionally, children start to learn about the worship service and the role they play in supporting it with their gift of music. Our Sonshine Choir supports our worship services on a scheduled basis.

Praise Choir: The Praise Choir is offered for children in the First and Second grades. In the Praise Choir your child’s singing voice is developed through age appropriate vocal exercises and musical activities. Various rhythm instruments are used to teach musical ideas in this choir. Basic music theory is taught during our weekly rehearsals as we begin focusing on the fundamentals of reading music. Children continue to develop and identify their role as it relates to supporting the worship service with their gift of music. This group supports our worship services on a scheduled basis.

More advanced music theory is taught and the children are challenged to learn more advanced choral pieces. Additional musicianship is developed through the use of Orff instruments. This choir receives Orff method instrumental instruction and plays several “Orff ensemble” pieces during our worship services throughout the year. Children continue to develop and identify their role as it relates to supporting the worship service with their gift of music. This group supports our worship services on a scheduled basis.
