Jerry G. Worley – Church Business Administrator (CBA)

Since 1999, Jerry Worley has faithfully served as the SACPC Church Business Administrator. With a business administration degree from Carson-Newman College (a Baptist school in eastern Tennessee), a background in corporate credit for a major furniture manufacturer, and a professional certification as a church administrator, Jerry has the training and preparation for such a position. In recent years, Jerry has become an ordained Baptist minister and serves as a bi-vocational pastor of a small country church. Jerry is married to Phyllis and they have one adult son who is married and living in Hickory, North Carolina.

 

Pat Owen – Administrative Assistant to Pastor/Head of Staff

Pat quietly reigns over the church calendar and and the church management system and keeps Steve Hein and officers equipped and informed! Pat and her family – husband Herb and three daughters and grandsons – are long time Wilmington residents and are members of Pine Valley Baptist Church.

 

Susan Dykes – Administrative Assistant to CBA

Susan joined the staff in June 2007 to manage the payments in and out of the church and provide administrative support for Jerry Worley. This Wilmington native is married to Scott and they have two daughters, Tracy and Melissa, and they are members of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, she enjoys the beach, boating, cooking, reading, time with family and friends, and looks forward to football season so she can cheer for her Carolina Panthers.

 

Barbara Burdett – Media Secretary

Since 2003, Barbara has managed the flow of information to church publications such as Saints Alive and the website. Barbara is a mother – two daughter’s who live in Charlotte, North Carolina – and a very proud grandmother – a grandson and a granddaughter. As a native of Wilmington, Barbara enjoys the surroundings as the spends time with God, hikes, bikes, walks her dogs, and entertains her family.

 

Catheryn Thomas – Ministry Secretary

Catheryn and her husband John have been members of SACPC since 2000. Since 2009, Catheryn has served Robb Lapp and other ministry leaders. Catheryn grew up in Tampa and Atlanta but moved to Wilmington in 1994(?). Catheryn and John enjoy the outdoors – camping and kayaking with their two children, Alex and Rachel.

 

Laura Witter – Program Secretary

Since 2005, Laura has been on the administrative staff at SACPC, serving various ministries of the church including current duties supporting the youth and children’s ministries. Laura came to Wilmington by way of Georgia, South Carolina and Wallace, North Carolina. With a BS in Church Ministries from Mount Olive College, Laura adds special gifts to those she serves. In her spare time, Laura enjoys tennis, the beach, and traveling but she is extremely fond of the mission field both in the United States and other countries.

 

Jane Knight – Receptionist/Staff Assistant

After retiring from the Human Resources Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this Wilmington native joined the SACPC staff. Jane, the mother of son Ric and the grandmother of Eric and Kylie, is a member of Winter Park Presbyterian Church, and she enjoys traveling, reading, walking, and spending special times with family and friends.

 

Len Schilling – Facilities/Security Manager

Len calls himself the “Jack of all trades–Master of none.” But those who rely on Len might vehemently disagree! This husband, father, and grandfather – one princess and two princes – enjoys kayaking, fishing, hiking, backpacking, camping, and old cars. He is a veteran of service in Viet Nam and has also served as a scout master. If you need anything done…he’s the man!
