Donations for October

Donations for October: October is officially designated Domestic Violence Awareness Month. As part of this awareness, we at SACPC will collect various items that are used in the operation of the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services. Camp Kirkwood Vespers Service

Our LAST Vesper Worship Service of 2016 will be Sunday, October 9th, hosted by First Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville. Vespers are held at the lakeside worship area 5-6pm; Refreshments served in the picnic pavilion 6-7pm. The offering taken during worship benefits Friends of Kirkwood, who sponsor the services. S.O.S. Group October 18th Meeting

The S.O.S. group will gather at Trish Boyd’s home on Tuesday, October 18th at 5:30 pm. If you’ve lost a spouse recently, this is a great, compassionate group whose members enjoy getting together for fun, camaraderie, and support. Congolese Refugees Arrive

A Congolese refugee family that our church is helping to resettle through Interfaith Refugee Ministry (IRM) has recently started to attend SACPC. First to arrive was Elvis and Serugo. Sojourners Visit to “Behind the Scenes” of the Cape Fear Stage – October 20, 2016

Session has approved a new policy for funerals and memorial services here at SACPC. This document will provide essential guidance for SACPC staff and bereaved families. 2017 Stephen Leader’s Training Courses

Each year we hope to send two people to a seven-day Leader’s Training Course. Stephen Leaders recruit, select, train, and supervise Stephen Ministers. Ideally the candidate(s) will have completed Stephen Ministry Training and served at least two years as a Stephen Minister.
