At. St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church,we endeavor to be a welcoming community, caring and sharing with love and joy.
And his (Jesus) mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you.” And he answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” And looking about at those who sat around him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” –Mark 3:31-35
Jesus wanted those around him to recognize that it is most important to connect to his family of believers. Some of us have good families – fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers – on whom we can count in times of trouble and who share with us in our times of joy. Some of us have no family – or a family that has abandoned us. But there is no family like the family of God with whom we are united in fellowship.
SACPC has family members who have been here for more than 50 years and some who have come to the family in the last few days or weeks. No matter the length of time in this fellowship, all can partake in the loving and sharing! We celebrate together – we pray for one another – we serve one another – and we are supportive in our times of trouble.
We all need the family of God!
