Baptism Celebration | Paschal Family
William Paschal, son of Aaron Cole and Julie Daniel Paschal, and great-grandson of Bill and Bette Aman, received Christian Baptism on September 10th at SACPC during the 11:00 am service.
In baptism, we promise to guide and nurture these children by word and deed, love, and prayer, encouraging them to know and love Jesus Christ and to be His faithful disciples.

Wake Up Grateful with Stillpoint
by Shelley Hobson
Stillpoint is an open and inviting circle of women whose focus is on spiritual reading, reflection, and friendship. We meet twice each week: Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. during the Christian Education hour and Mondays from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Zoom. You are invited to join us for either or both!
On Sundays, we gather around the table in our classroom on the second floor and read a meditation from Richard Rohr's devotional book "Yes, and..." Following the reading, we spend time together in silent meditation and then share our reflections. We invite you to drop in...and stay!
Stillpoint's Zoom gathering on Mondays began during the pandemic and kept going. We focus on a book the group has chosen. Each of us gets a copy of the book and reads the weekly assignment before logging on. Beginning Monday, October 2nd, we will begin a new book, "Wake Up Grateful" by Kristi Nelson. The book's description states: "This practical and inspiring program is filled with guiding principles, reflections, exercises, and meditations for making gratitude a daily practice, especially during uncertain and challenging times. Using the story of her own cancer experience as a touchstone, Nelson provides deep insight and help in finding resilience and well-being in the face of life’s uncertainties and offers the promise of profound personal change."
If you're interested in receiving the weekly Zoom link and joining us, contact Lynn Kozik, Virginia Hager, or Shelley Hobson. All are welcome!

Did you know food waste is a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions? The US EPA estimates Americans discard enough food loss and waste into landfills each year to equal 42 coal-fired power plants. This doesn't even include the methane emissions generated from food waste rotting in landfills. The good news, you can immediately become a part of the solution! Join us as we hear from Joe Suleyman, New Hanover County's Environmental Management Director, about how we all can participate in the county's municipal composting program without buying any worms! This program will take place in The Chapel immediately following our POPS Meal.
New Pew Cards Available THIS Sunday!
by Emily Donovan
Starting Sunday, worshipers who prefer to give electronically will have the opportunity to fully participate during the offertory at both worship services. We now have laminated giving/prayer cards located at every pew. During the offertory, as ushers pass the collection plates we invite all who give electronically, and also those seeking prayer requests, to place a card in the collection plate. QR codes are available on the giving or prayer side of the cards for anyone wanting to submit a prayer request via our website or give online.

CareLine Updates as of Sept. 25, 2023
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
